MEETING BETWEEN COMMISSIONER AND PRESIDENT ELECT OF JUDICIARY

Guatemala, October 10, 2011. This morning, Francisco Javier Dall'Anese Ruiz, CICIG Commissioner, met with President-elect of the Judiciary, Thelma Esperanza Aldana Hernández, in order to personally congratulate the judge and pave the way for rapprochement between the two institutions.

The main issue addressed during the meeting was the mutual commitment to working shoulder to shoulder for the good of the Judiciary (OJ) and Guatemalan justice. "Now is the time to join forces for the good of the country. I shall work to promote the reform of the Career System in the Judiciary Law and the Judiciary Civil Service Law," said Judge Aldana.

Commissioner Dall'Anese also pledged to work with Judge Aldana on projects to strengthen justice and create prompt and fair justice for Guatemalans.
