CICIG SUBMITS PROPOSAL FOR ATTORNEY GENERAL PROFILE

Guatemala, 11 February 2010. On the occasion of the creation of the Nominating Committee and under the provisions of the mandate of the International Commission Against Impunity in Guatemala (CIClG) and the Law on Nomination Committees, this Commission published on Tuesday 10 February the formal proposal on basic issues to be considered in the selection process for candidates for the post of Attorney General and Head of the Public Prosecutor’s Office.

The proposal contains:

  • Basic aspects to observe in the profile of a candidate for Attorney General and Head of the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
  • Elements of a criminal prosecution policy.
  • Basic rules of procedure.
