Austria arrests former Police Chief Javier Figueroa for the purposes of extradition

Guatemala, May 24, 2011. Javier Figueroa, former Deputy Director of the National Civil Police (PNC), was arrested in the north of Austria on Monday evening, at the request of Guatemala, because of suspicions he is involved in the killings of at least 10 inmates in 2005 and 2006.
