Guatemala, September 2, 2011. The official gazette of Guatemala published the instrument of ratification of the Agreement on exchanging letters between the Government of the Republic of Guatemala and the United Nations. The Agreement was signed in Guatemala City on December 23, 2010 and in New York City on January 13, 2011, thereby extending the mandate of the International Commission against Impunity in Guatemala (CICIG) for two more years. The extended mandate will begin on September 4, 2011.
