CICIG is in constant communication with the Attorney General’s Office (MinisterioPúblico, MP).
The Commissioner Iván Velásquez GĂłmez informed Dr. MarĂa Consuelo Porras in writing that the Commission will continue working in Guatemala under theAgreement.
CICIG has not suspended its operations in Guatemala. On the contrary, as indicated by the Constitutional Court and the Secretary-General of the United Nations, AntĂłnio Guterres, the Commission willkeep upits end of the agreementuntil its mandate ends on September 3, 2019.
CICIG reiterates its call to respect the resolutions of the Constitutional Court of January 9, 2019, which suspends the decision issued by the authorities of the State of Guatemala to end in an early and unilateral manner the Agreement between the United Nations and the Government of Guatemala that established the CICIG.
 CICIG continues to work in Guatemala based on this agreement.
