PRESS RELEASE 032

TOTAL REPUDIATION

Guatemala, June 14, 2013. The International Commission against Impunity in Guatemala repudiates the violent acts that transpired last night in Salcajá, Quetzaltenango, where eight National Civil Police (PNC) officers were vilely murdered and a deputy inspector was kidnapped.

The Commission deeply regrets the fact such events occur and also expresses solidarity with the families, friends and colleagues of the police officials who fell victim to this savage attack.

We call upon society to join together and support all National Civil Police (PNC) officials, rejecting any such painful, violent acts.
