NEW CANADIAN AMBASSADOR MEETS WITH CICIG COMMISSIONER

Guatemala, September 8, 2011. The new Ambassador of Canada, Hugues Rousseau, who presented his credentials to the Government of Guatemala on August 29, met yesterday with Commissioner Francisco Javier Dall'Anese Ruiz at CICIG. During the rapprochement, the new ambassador confirmed Canada's continued support for the Commission's work. The meeting also provided an opportunity to give the ambassador details of the Commission's four years of activities and the extension of the mandate until September 2013.
